If we consider Lungbarrow to be canon, then the Doctor is something other than a time lord. There's a scene in Lungbarrow (which I've mostly forgotten so I may have it wrong) where "the other" is escaping and gets to the loom where the time lord children are woven (since they're sterile). There is a crackle of energy and a lightning bolt goes into the body on the loom - something climbs into the doctor's skin.<br /><br />He's said to be different because he's called snail after the curious hole (belly button) which he has but other timelords don't.<br /><br />In any case, time in doctor who is constantly being rewritten - see how Genesis rewrote the future of the daleks (and eventually led to the time war and the extinction of the time lords).<br /><br />Whatever direction it takes, I'll be watching.Gavin Bollardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13833941398375568706noreply@blogger.com
